My son was pitching a 10 year old fall baseball game and was almost finished with two outs in the last inning. The batter with 2 strikes on him hit a line shot to my son, Hayden's head. The ball hit him directly on his left eye. I ran out to the mound, as any petrified parent would, and I actually forgot that he had glasses on because he only wears them playing baseball and he threw them off before I got to the mound. I thought he lost his eye because he was holding on to his face and blood was all over his face. I called for an ambulance and he was cleaned up at the emergency room; it turned out he only some cuts around his eye and a nice looking bragging rights shiner for school. I truly believed that wearing Rec Specs saved his eye and was worth every dime.

Proud dad moment - Hayden pitched the next game and struck out the undefeated team in front of a very large and concerned audience to win the game. You had to be there.
