SUMMIT WOMEN'S TRIATHLETE TEAM

About Summit Women's Triathlete Team:

Liberty Sport is pleased to sponsor the Summit Women's Triathlete Team.

Since 2006 the Summit Area YMCA has offered women within the local communities special triathlon training workshops to help prepare them to compete in their first triathlon. Many of these first-time triathletes select the Danskin Women's Triathlon as their first event, which is held in Sandy Hook, New Jersey, and involves a 1/2 mile swim, 12 mile bike ride, and 3.1 mile run/walk. This triathlon is also special to the group because its mission is to raise money for breast cancer research. Last year the team from the Summit Area YMCA raised $10K for the cause. The women originally gave themselves the name the "101 Singular Sensations" for its goal to sign up 101 members. Enthusiasm for joining the group has grown with over 400 women ages 16 to 60 plus from Summit and the surrounding communities participating. They now call themselves "Team 101", and each and every member truly is a "singular sensation" for their accomplishments.
